Debris is a word used to describe the REMAINS of something that has been otherwise DESTROYED.

Origin of the word is from the French 16th Century, "debriser" which means, to break ( in pieces ).
Debris in the visual thesaurus branches out to four words paths : RUBBLE, JUNK, DUST, DETRITUS
Detritus.net _ a conceptual definition:
"Detritus is a metaphor! It's the rubbish of our own lives, our culture, the stuff that gets tossed, but somebody else picks up, and sees something new in it...
