Before I met her, Bangbay lived in Laos; Modesto and San Francisco, CA; and Seattle, WA. Zipped in and out of Oracle, AZ, while living in NYC. Since leaving the NY/NJ area, she has lived in Austin, TX, and is now in Los Angeles, CA.

On and off for four years, I lived with Bangbay in college dorms and apartments in Upper Manhattan, and, whenever one of us was in between living spaces, on floors or in cars and motels across the country. One year, I watched her (but didn't help her) build a gigantic loft bed, which she made so we could cram our college and post-college possessions into the small space of a room we shared, my bed and CDs enclosed as in a cave below her own bed.

And still, in the course of this interview/tour of her current living space, I was surprised by one small fact: Where does Bangbay sleep now?
